Without the support of the people listed below, I simply could not have completed this journey and raise the profile of the cause I am supporting. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for making this fantastic journey possible.
First of all, I would like to thank Imperial College, Imperial College Student Union for their support and, in particular, I would like to thank the Imperial College Sports Division (Sport Imperial) for providing free, expert physical training for several months to prepare me for this challenge. I would also like to thank Alex McKee and staff at the Communications and Alumni Offices of the College for helping me to raise the profile of this cause.
Secondly, I would like to thank my friends and family for supporting me through the journey. In particular I would like to thank Nichola Hawkins for chasing after me in Scotland over dangerous hills in a Fiat Punto; my mother, sister Rachel and cousin Sophie for rescuing me after my accident on the first attempt; my Auntie Gloria for putting me up for a night during the journey and my father for keeping a close eye on me and booking hotels and taxis ahead towards the end of the journey. I am also grateful to the staff at the Shelburn Hospital in High Wycombe for their excellent medical care.
Finally, I would like to thank all of those who have generously donated money towards this cause and sent their kind wishes and messages to me over the last few months.
